Pete Plan 5 x 1,500m, 5:00 rest

So, after yesterday's disaster (the OFSTED thing blew over as I had hoped - phew!) a better row today. My first go at this piece so was conservative on the pacing and selected 2k PB + 7, or a split on the first four reps of 1:47.6. I achieved this (strangely the wheel got heavier and heavier throughout the first four) and set off on the last one still wrangling in an internal debate of whether to go for a 1:45 split or a 1:47. I split the difference, rowing the first 500m hard, hanging on for the next 600m and accelerating through the last 400m for a 1:45.1 which was pretty pleasing. My overall split was 1:47.1 - the target for next time.

Glad I was conservative on this. I am enjoying the Pete Plan reps so far, just need to learn how to do the steady state stuff. I may resort to heart rate work.

For what it is worth, I am keeping track of my rows using a google spreadsheet.

Metres today: 11,500
