I record my rows in too many places now. Today was my first crack at the Pete Plan.
The aim was 8 x 500m with 3:30 rest. Pacing was suggested to be 2k-2 and with a 2k PB at 1:40.6 split I aimed for 1:38.6, with the last flat out.
I found this relatively "easy" with splits as follows:
1:38.6
1:38.6
1:38.5
1:38.5
1:38.5
1:38.5
1:38.5
1:35.3
=====
1:38.1 overall - the next target for the first seven rows.
If the pacing is truly 2k-2 (obviously only a guide!) then I was correct that I am on the fringe of a 6:40 row.
I am keen to enter EIRC in Manchester since that is enough time for me to get my fitness back and close in on 6:40.
OFSTED are coming to school tomorrow. I am one of the "chosen ones" who OFSTED are coming to see. Unlike a normal inspection where you get 48 hours notice (and that is too long in my opinion!) this has been more than a week!! Enough time for the senior management to drive the staff nutty. I am usually pretty laid back but have been really stressed out this week by the constant and unusual demands. In my opinion the OFSTED lot are pretty clued up and will see through any fakery. I have been fighting my corner to do what I usually do and let them judge that. I think I have won but it was about 3-2. I love teaching and it is rare I wish for the week to end, but all I can say is "Roll on Friday afternoon!".
