I have now completely lost my voice. For many, this will be a relief no doubt.
It appears to be the result of my actually rowing though. Maybe the intake of air has dried affected my vocal chords or something.
But, I have rowed and that is good news. I did a long warm up a la Wolfie and then what was on my C2 plan (3 x 1.5AN - though I did 3 x 500m). I thought that short anaerobic work was a good idea given the unknown state of my lungs.
I was cautious on the first one going off slow and building to a 1:35.6. It was OK. I was pleased. I allowed myself a longer recovery than usual and then did a racing start, steady state (tried to rate 30) and did a sprint finish for a 1:34.3. It was OK, I was still pleased. I rested again then raced my second piece on RowPro. I did a bigger start and held off my sprint until the second row passed me. It was close, I won but in the same time, 1:34.3. It was OK, I am still pleased.
Now, 20 minutes later I cannot talk at all, and whilst my lungs are telling me they worked and slightly creaky/bubbly it is no worse than that and I hope I will continue to improve. 60 hours to go.
