A bit better

Supposed to be 4 x 12' UT1 (161/22) today but I did a 15' UT1 as the first rep to see how I am going. I was not optimistic. I was level with my previous best pace boat for about 4 minutes but then it rowed away from me.

I was 50m down (3,921 vs 3,976) on the last time that I did a UT1 which at a 1% decline pretty much sums up my training in the last three weeks. I am never going to go sub 6:30 at BIRC at this rate. Must do better. Whether I can sustain any sort of training in the summer holidays is beginning to worry me. Certainly the 8 days sunbathing sans-kids in Italy is going to be a problem!

The other three reps were hard, harder and slow. I was splitting at 2:06 at the end but I kept my heart rate up pretty well.

Metres today: 14,813

P.S. Thanks for your comments John.

Glad to hear it's going a bit better Thomas - end of school year is a complete no hoper for rhythm.
I have every faith in your ingenuity to keep training going through the holidays.... If you do it then so will I! :-) Deal?
