2:00.3 for CTC - close

I have been a bit down this week for a variety of reasons that I won't go in to here. I returned to the ergo tonight thinking that things couldn't be much worse than Sunday. Er, so, why not try for the CTC - a flat out 666m!

2 minutes dead is my target this month. I decided to break the distance down in to six "negative" 111m splits and aim for 1:31, 1:31, 1:30, 1:30, 1:29, 1:28 which would bring me home in 1:59.

Of course, my tiny brain could not cope with the 666-111-111-111-111 etc. problem whilst oxygen was being diverted to my muscles. And the current version of RowPro crashes when you try and set up a custom pace boat.

I churned out a 1:31.0, 1:31.0 (pretty good so far!), 1:30.1, 1:30.1 (not bad eh!), er, 1:30.1 and 1:30.5 row. I probably lost about 0.5 seconds mulling over when I was supposed to be pushing. I think next time I will break it down in to 20 second segments!! 2:00.3 was good but not the sought after 1:59.9. I didn't notice I was half way because I was worrying about the splits and probably can go faster. 1:59.9 has got to be possible by the end of the month.

I did a 1,000m warm down and then surprised myself by setting off for the scheduled 10' AT (172 hr) piece. I thought I would start at UT1 given the 666 piece and build up from there. This went entirely to plan and I was pleased that the last 4 minutes were all in the AT band, rating 26.

Metres today: 8,151

Well done Thomas, looks like our brief bit of competition was very brief indeed! Especially if there is more to come from you :-)
I'm up for a go on RowPro if we can organise it.
I'll check the diary.

Nice one Thomas, I'd be up for a Rowpro 666 but would want the organiser to have at least a 30 second delay (even a slightly poor start could mean the difference between a good and bad time in sucha short row)
