Still going well

Very busy at work/updating the Free Spirits forum so not much time to row let alone blog!

From a recent post I made:
My first hard row since returning from skiing - the 3/2.5/2 pyramid (5' rest). I have had some odd muscle tweaks in the gut area so was not sure what to expect. My previous split for this was 1:50.8 - very slow - because I did it when returning from illness and holidays. Pete's guidance says 5k split + 1. I thought I would split the difference and go for 1:49 but felt so strong I finished the first in a 1:47.5 split. The next 2k was harder than I expected (DOH!) but I got home in 1:47.4 split.

I went for broke with the last, aiming for a 1:45 split - and paid for it. Struggled home in a 1:47.1 split leaving an overall 1:47.3 or 26:49.7. This again shows that my 5,000 pb (1:46.8 split) is weak if Pete is anything to go by. One second faster is a sub 17:45 row. My 10k a couple of weeks ago suggested sub 17:40. I guess I am not allowed to enter that without rowing it?!
I still need to do quite a few things to the forum to get it right. I (and others) really miss the links along the top so they are quite a priority. I aim to get them done this weekend if possible.

Metres today: 10,063
