Egged on by Petr I tried to smash my 7,777 CTC time today. The plan was to hit a sub 28 minute 7,777 (and REALLY put Petr to bed) then get past 8,400m on the 30 minutes. The split was supposed to be 1:48.0 dead.
However my pyramid from yesterday was in my legs, and I felt it from about 2,000 in. I handled down after 20 minutes - I had past 5,000m within a couple of seconds of my season best - and my split at this time was 1:48.8. I could probably have still gone on and done a 1:49.x time and got close to Petr but my heart wasn't in it.
