Back again :)

This is one tough sport. 11 days off hurling myself down the runs of Zürs and I am back on the erg. The last row before I left was the massive 10k pb. I am slowly learning that coming back is hard. So instead of a suicidal PB attempt I thought I would do a 30 minute piece at 1:55. This is pace I should be able to keep up easily for an hour. I have done 10k recovery rows at close to this pace.

Well, I managed it, but it was hard. My stomach is sore from attempting to match my daughters' jumps on the skiing holiday and the exercise just felt so strange! I increased the pace throughout the row and ended at under 1:50 for the last couple of minutes but it was strange. I wanted to stop but felt no discomfort. Explain that.

Getting used to the C2 is obviously so important to maintain performance. I know I will be back (and quickly), and I am relieved to be back rowing again. Dragging my sorry arse out to the garage to row was a big ask today.

Metres today: 8,873
