Working on things

Back to "proper" rowing today with two 10 minute anaerobic threshold (AT) rows at 172 heart rate and 26 strokes per minute.

After seeing the Evesham video and learning that the elite rowers use and train at the lower drag factor I have been trying to row longer and accelerate more through the strokes. I forget some of the time and remember at other times! Time will tell if it makes any difference. My metres are still well down on comparison pieces but I won't worry about that for a month at least (if at all).

Today was the first time I was not bothered by my inner elbow since giving blood. When I thought about it the discomfort was there but most of the time I could ignore it. Is it psychosomatic? Does it only "feel" when I think about it? Who knows.

I am back at school My new form is settling in and it has been nice to see the girls from GCSE back in to the sixth form. They did very well and are rightly proud of themselves. The school continues to get great results.

Metres today: 8,798

Best if luck with the restart of the proper training Thomas, and the new technique .

From personal experience I would imagine it will probably have only a small effect over 2K, but a bigger one over longer rows (where efficiency is more important) .

Hard to know with the elbow .

Congrats on the good school results
