What goes around...

This blog is useful in that I can look back at other times when I was not performing well (here's another). I know things will get better and I know that it will take a few failures to get me there.

I suspect that when my fitness was starting from a very low base I never stopped because I never knew what I was capable of. I aimed low and was always able to finish. Now when I am coming back, I know what I should be capable of and am disappointed (inevitably). I will just have to aim lower.

I was tired today and could have had a day off according to the schedule but wanted to do something constructive. Perhaps I shouldn't have!!

I tried for 3 x 3' TR today. I could barely get my heart rate up to the 180+ required. It was torture. The first piece I did as a 1,000m aiming for a 3:15 but that was beyond my mental capabilities (I suspect that I had it physically, but could not cope with the effort required). The others I aimed lower and lower but my heart was not really in it. I was also trying to watch the England cricket replay which was a bit distracting (Pietersen's outrageous reverse sweeps every ball!). Ah well, it is all metres under the bridge.

Metres today: 6,119
