Back in the saddle + gate problems

I have been under the weather (impossible volumes of snot and very "chesty") all week. Today I endeavoured to row again. I did not want to try too much after a week off so did a 130hr 10k. At least I can now pull my weight in the CTC albeit very slowly with a 44:33.

Spent the morning and early afternoon painting the gates. I had repaired them over the summer holidays but painting has taken time to organise. Sanded and sugar soaped yesterday, undercoat this morning then the final gloss this afternoon. Ah. The carefully selected "trafalgar blue" appears somewhat bright. I keep telling MBH that it will tone down in the next week or so but she is aghast. I love the blue but suspect that it needs to tone down rather a lot to pass muster. The back remains grey undercoat only.

Metres today: 10,000
