Heavy, but back under 7 minutes

Not much rowing recently, but I was not panicking too much(!) since my last sub 7 attempt was hopeless and I wanted to try one after a rest.

I aimed for a negative split row using my tried and trusted 800m @ pace +1, 600m @ pace, 400m @ pace -1 and 200m @ pace -2. I set the PC up at 200m splits and off I went.A The plan was to hit the first 200m with my usual fast start, then follow the pacing plan religiously. This was cunning since I was breaking the race down in to manageable chunks!
 200 1:44.3 (target 1:46.0)
400 1:46.0 (target 1:46.0)
600 1:46.0 (target 1:46.0)
800 1:45.5 (target 1:46.0)
1000 1:45.5 (target 1:45.0)
1200 1:45.0 (target 1:45.0)
1400 1:44.8 (target 1:45.0)
1600 1:44.0 (target 1:44.0)
1800 1:44.0 (target 1:44.0)
2000 1:40.3 (target 1:43.0)
Not bad! I found that it was much more manageable this way. This row made me happy. I am still ridiculously heavy from over eating and not rowing enough, but at least the pace is there!

Metres today: 4,000
