What goes around...

Back to the comeback trail again. I got slammed at work in November in ways I am not used to. nothing out of the ordnary, just lots of it. I did have one fantastic day in the middle when I took two kids to an energy conferenec in Nottingham. They entered a "Dragon's Den" type competition and won. Easily. Two comprehensive girls wiping the floor with all the other schools. Some private some state. Always good to beat the private schools! The next best idea was three year 12 boys from a boarding school. My year 10s were much better and deserved winners. The idea was so good that the company organising asked us to write it down for their patent lawyers and offered to help us try to take it to market!! A bonus was meeting Ellen MacArthur, who was smashing.

I rowed four times in November. Not good. So back today with an attempt at a 2:00 split 30 minutes. This was pretty good, surprisingly doable.

Metres today: 7,559

Thomas I envy you that you met Ellen MacArthur - she is one of my heroes. Whenever I was working with a resident who claimed not be strong enough for doing this or that or the other thing because of physical size limitations I pointed them to read about her. When I am tired at work I think of her accomplishments.
A lot is in the head to what the limits are. Of course, a lightweight will never be a heavyweight....
