I tried to donate platelets last week but an occupational hazard of giving blood is the occasional bruise. I have never had one before and if I was not rowing it would not be a minor problem. Everyone should give blood if they can. I'd be a widower without peoples' donations.
But, rowing with a big bruise inside the elbow was too much for me. I tried two days afterwards, and it was pretty uncomfortable. Today was a week later and it was a little better. My arm still felt weird throughout and I must have been "carrying" it because my left leg went numb! I stopped at 30 minutes of very gentle rowing.
I'm frustrated because I want to row well again in my life. I was on the way back and this is another stupid setback.
Metres in last week: about 10,000
