Sub 7 again :D

I had to know. Monday was my first good row for a while, so I went for a sub-seven minute 2k tonight. I was really pleased to manage it, in reasonably good form too, with a 6:57.0. I could have gone faster by a few seconds too.

I do not have the splits to hand but it was probably something like 1:43, 1:44, 1:46, 1:44. I had two pace boats - a steady state 1:45 and a "fly and die" (1:40/1:50). I don't know if that helped but it was fun leading the one and catching the other. The pain was not too great but I am still relatively weak and had no great sprint finish. I saved myself for the last 100m, but could only get down to 1:38. With more rowing time and the Pete Plan I will do much better on that.

I am now even more convinced that I have been carrying a virus for the last month or so. The hacking cough was a dead give-away, but I have felt really good in the last few days, and even my teaching has improved. Onwards and upwards!

Metres today: 4,004
