Easing in

Today was all over the place. My youngest daughter's 1st birthday had led to an enourmous and deeply unhealthy tea at 4pm. Sitting here after 8pm I can still feel the cocktail sausages, hula-hoops, meringues, mars-bar rice crispies, mini-honey scones etc. etc. sitting in my stomach. Nice but not helpful for easing the pressure in the midriff when rowing!

So I did a gentle warm up and felt less comfortable than yesterday and had to row at about half slide. I then set the clock for 10km but after 2,000m or so I was quite sore and had to ease back. For some daft reason I had set the damper to 10 too. I eased off after 3,000m and warmed down. Mentally I was not there. Not sure about physically.

This is another example of how "not having a plan" really kills my performance. I realise I am coming back from a very bad/low period, but surely I should realise that this means I should plan more!

Anyway, more returning metres under the belt. I will not pig out tomorrow and see how I go. I was a bit disappointed to be sorer than yesterday and this must be because I was on my feet all day at school of course.

Metres today: 5,154
