Back in the saddle

After weeks and weeks out I sat back on the erg tonight. The aim was to ease myself in with a gentle 10,000m at a heart rate of 130 and stroke rate of 22, which is my standard fitness test. Much to my annoyance, I had forgotten that the PM2+ links to my laptop through a USB-Serial adapter. I had not installed the drivers following the catastrophic disk death on my laptop yesterday.

Since I wanted to row I set off but my mind was mulling over questions like "where on earth is the dirver?" etc. I was very distracted by this and could not settle in to the rowing. I was browsing one handed and very put off. I stopped after a slow 4,000m in 18:44. At least I am back moving again. My "injury" was fine. no problems there at all. 130/22 felt a little hard though which is hardly surprising after the lay off. Under the Dr Erg rule I will be three months before I can pull properly again.

Once I stopped I remembered that I am quite organised and that the drivers were likely to be backed up on my NAS. They were. If I had thought straight I would have solved the problem in 2 minutes and still be rowing now.

Metres today: 4,000
