There is something rotten in the state of...

...W-P'dom.

Today should have been a good day. School cancelled for the kids and me before 7:30am, 10cm of snow on the ground.

BUT, Tamsin in bed looking awful and feeling worse, Harriet (11 months) dropping the most explosive loads of poo I have seen (three kids) every two hours and two over excited older children meant for a long difficult day. Somehow I survived the day, even building two snowmen along the way. Took the whole family to the doc at 4pm. Tamsin has unknown illness, Harriet possibly viral, possibly teething(!).

So, out to row at 20:30. I find I am doubled up with wind. Return to house after 1,000m and the world drops out, of, well, er, somewhere.

Back to the erg with thought of a gentle 130HR 10k instead of the planned piece. I get 1,000m in at 2:20 and it just all feels wrong.

Now, I am supposed to be flying out for skiing on Saturday morning. Had skiing been today we'd still be here. Desperately hoping that my problem was due to contamination from the mountains of poo (and four resultant clothing changes) Harriet produced today, and that I will be OK tomorrow.

Metres today: 2,853, very, very gently.

Commiserations Thomas... hope that it's nothing serious, and that you, Tamsin and the rest of the clan are feeling better in time for skiing.

I promise to be ahead of you on the board before you get back!

Thomas, sorry to hear of your plight. Mountains of poo are enough to test the best so well done on coping. Hope that you've not ended up with the bug yourself and that skiing goes as planned. I fully believe that skiing is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Good luck and hope the family get better soon.

Have a great time, Thomas! The winter is what it is. Enjoy your time and get everyone back fully unsick. Also, keep the fire stoked. :)
