TEST: 7:21.8

Well, I had to do a 2k as the start of my C2 plan and today seemed as good a day as any.

I had put 7:30 in as my predicted time for 2k when selecting the plan. This seemed sensible on the +5 seconds when you double the distance and almost the last row I did, about 6 weeks ago was a 1:45 1,000m that nearly killed me. +5 makes 1:50 then +2.5 for the extra six weeks. Experience (finally I am getting some) also told me that setting off too hard would be bonkers and I could always make up the pace in the last 500m.

The row went well. My target pace was 1:52.5 and I managed to come home in 7:21.8 @ 1:50.4. RowPro went a bit bonkers in the middle so I got no details on the four 500m splits but I suspect it was 1:52 for the first 1,000 then about 1:50 then 1:45-ish for the last 500m. I hung on to 1:3x in the last 30 seconds but it hurt ( that is my PB pace...).

Pretty upbeat really. I am optimistic that Bill is right and it is quicker to come back than you think. I feel keeping this thread going will keep me honest.
